MK Moti Yogev (Jewish Home) has offered his congratulations for the approval of a government bill to impose stricter penalties on employers who hire illegal workers.

"I am happy to hear that the bill I submitted about tightening the penalties for employers and those who house illegal immigrants in Israel has passed the Minister Committee for Legislation as a government bill," he said.

MK Yogev continued: "I initiated the bill during the previous term, following numerous attacks and murders by Palestinians illegally squatting in Israel. Israel Police and the IDF had trouble handling the widespread problem. By increasing punishments against those who earn large sums of money by breaking the law... there is and will be a more significant deterrence that will reduce the scope of the crimes and will save lives."
