Turkey has sent humanitarian supplies into the Syrian city of Aleppo today (Sunday), as air strikes continue to pound the route towards the Turkish border.
"In some parts of Aleppo the Assad regime has cut the north- south corridor ... Turkey is under threat," Turkish President Tayyip Recep Erdogan told reports while returning from a trip to Latin America, the Hurriyet paper reports.
Both Russian and Syrian forces are escalating their attacks on rebels around Aleppo. The city, which was the country's largest before the ongoing civil war began, still has a population of about 350,000. Many of them are in desperate need of help.
