The Bank of Israel has announced that its foreign currency reserves at the end of January 2016 amount to $90,483,000,000. This is a drop of $94 million when compared with the previous month.
The reduction in foreign currency reserves results from the currencies' reevaluation, which affected $363 million, transferring $22 million abroad, and transferring $9 million to the private sector.
At the same time, the decrease was offset by the Bank's purchase of $300 million in foreign currency. All purchases were carried out according to the purchasing plan, which was aimed at offsetting the impact of Israeli gas production on the exchange rate.
