President Reuven Rivlin has commented on today's (Wednesday) terror attack at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem's Old City, in which two Border Police officers were wounded.
"Strengthen the hands of those who protect Jerusalem's walls. As I finished my visit to the IDF's intelligence branch, where I was updated about the challenges in fighting on such a complicated front, I received word about two Border Police officers who were wounded in a terrible attack in Jerusalem."
He continued: "I spoke with the commander at the scene, deputy Border Police commander Yosi Poni, and I was updated on the details. I heard from him how the officers' alertness again served us as a protective barrier and I asked him to stand by all the troops. Together with the entire Jewish People, I am saying prayers for the recovery of the wounded.
"I thank you - the Border Police officers, the defenders of Jerusalem's walls - in the name of the entire people, for all of your actions against the boundless murderous terrorism."
