Rand Paul has suspended his election campaign for the US presidency.
Though Paul (R-KY) has only served in the Senate since 2011, his father Ron Paul was a senator for Texas for many years. Rand Paul has a loyal body of libertarian supporters, but was unable to make headway in the presidential race.
