MK Yitzhak Herzog met on Wednesday with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Rome.

Herzog reiterated his plan to further a regional security committee comprised of Egyptian, Jordanian and Israeli representatives, as well as of representatives of other local countries, in order to combine efforts and fight Islamic extremism and establish security and trust in the Middle East.

Herzog told Kerry that “The current security situation cannot continue. Israelis are being murdered in the streets and the world continues to focus on ridiculous initiatives and boycotts. They are ignoring the reality. A separation program is the only way to get things moving in the region and to advance towards a future two-state vision. It will not come about by tomorrow morning.”
