Popular Irish broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan has passed away at the age of 77.
Wogan's radio shows drew eight million listeners, though he was famously down-to-earth and was never connected to any scandals.
He may have been best known for covering the Eurovision Song Contest, which he did on television from 1980 until 2008. British and Irish viewers enjoyed his sarcasm and apparent dislike for the productions. "Who knows what hellish future lies ahead," he famously said during the 2007 contest. "Actually, I do. I've seen the rehearsals."
