Herzog: What is PM waiting for? Until terrorists enter kibbutzim?

Opposition head Yitzhak Herzog (Zionist Union) has expressed harsh criticism for the Defense Minister and Prime Minister's handling of terror tunnels from Gaza.

During a meeting with southern regional leaders, Herzog said: "Residents living near Gaza report that they hear the sound of digging tunnels under their homes. Egypt has blown up Hamas tunnels of the Rafah border without hesitation. What are the Defense Minister and Prime Minister waiting for? Until terrorists with drawn weapons step out into a kibbutz or moshav?

"The political leadership must give a public and clear answer to the residents. They must stop hesitating. They need serious answers for the citizens. They need to instruct the IDF to blow up the tunnels and to eliminate this threat. Especially if there are already tunnels crossing Israel's border. Hamas is bragging and we have not done anything. We will wake up one day and discover the seriousness of the threat. This will cost us blood and much sorrow," he continued.
