Environment Minister Avi Gabai (Kulanu) on Thursday convened a press conference in light of the drop in oil prices, and called on the gas companies to lower the price of gas in order to reduce air pollution and prevent damage to public health.
"Reducing air pollution is the number one task of the Environment Ministry. We are dealing with this every day, and natural gas is the number one solution to the problem. Extensive use of natural gas for electricity, industry and heavy transport will completely change the air Israelis breathe," he added.
