A bus carrying Arabs with Israeli identity cards was stopped at the Kalandia checkpoint.
During a search of the bus, security forces noticed a young man acting suspiciously. After it was determined that he did not have an identity card, he was asked to exit the bus for a check. As he was getting off, though, he pulled a knife out of his pants pocket.
A security guard noticed that knife, which fell out of the attempted terrorist's hand, and quickly overpowered him.
The suspect is a 17-year-old from Shechem. He has been taken for questioning.
