US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro says that he regrets the timing of his criticism against Israel's conduct in Judea and Samaria. The remark fell on the same day as the funeral for Dafna Meir, who was stabbed in her Otniel home.
During an interview on Army Radio, Shapiro said, "I understand that the timing was not ideal. I began by denouncing the attacks in Otniel and Tekoa. There was only a sentence or two that caused a dispute. If my remarks were hurtful to the Meir family, than I am sorry."
