Iran has arrested about 100 people in connection with the attack on the Saudi embassy earlier this month. "Since the attack, about 100 people have been arrested, of whom some have been released," a spokesperson with the judiciary told official Iranian news.
The attack, which followed Saudi Arabia's execution of a prominent Shi'ite cleric, led to the Kingdom and several other countries breaking diplomatic ties with the Islamic Republic.
A previously statement had noted that 40 people were arrested for their involvement with the embassy attack, and another four arrested in connection with the attack on the Saudi consulate in Mashhad.
