International Development Secretary Justin Greening says that the UK may accept Syrian refugee children who have already reached other European countries. There are about 3,000 such children without parents or guardians in the continent.
Greening explained the project to Sky News and added: "That's what we are doing and I think that is the right thing."
Prime Minister David Cameron previously stated that the UK would take in 20,000 refugees, spread out of over five years. The 20,000 were expected to come from people waiting in camps in the Middle East, though, and not from those already in Europe.
