Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon (Likud) will set off for a working visit to Greece tomorrow (Monday), where he will be a guest of his Greek counterpart Panos Kammenos. This is reciprocal visit, after Kammenos visited Israel last July.
While in Greece, Ya'alon is expected to sign a joint statement with Kammenos and to hold additional meetings with local military officials, including the Chief of Staff, as well as with the Public Security minister. He will also visit the parliament and meet with members of the Jewish community.
"Greece is an important ally for Israel in the Mediterranean, and cooperation between the IDF and the Greek military is productive and widespread. It is very important for us to maintain and strengthen our securities ties with Greece."
