The British Ministry of Defense has announced that almost 60 cases in which UK soldiers reportedly illegally killed Iraqis have been dropped.
The 57 cases were being handled by the Iraq Historic Allegations Team, which made the decision not to proceed. One additional case was dropped by order of the military.
Prime Minister David Cameron recently declared his intention to "stamp out" supposedly "spurious" legal claims against UK troops.
