The members of al-Qaeda who were imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay have been transfered to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, after the two countries agreed to take them for humanitarian reasons.
At the beginning of the year, 16 prisoners were transferred, as part of efforts to close the site before the end of US President Barack Obama's term in office. There still remain 91 detainees.
Closing Guantanamo Bay was one of Obama's main points in his first campaign for president.
