Ben Gurion Airport customs inspectors thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,130 cigarette packages, worth roughly 250,000 shekels in taxes.
The cigarettes were concealed in luggage belonging to two new olim from Georgia and their relatives. The mastermind behind the smuggling attempt, a 44-year-old Israeli resident, was arrested and later released on bail.
