A Rish Lezion court has extended the detention of Ashkelon mayor Itamar Shimoni until Tuesday. Shimoni has suspected of sex crimes, bribery, fraud, and money laundering.
Another suspect's detention was also extended until Tuesday.
Afterwards, the two were released on restricted conditions, including full house arrest for 10 days. At the end of the period, Shimoni will be removed from office for an additional 40 days.
