MK Stav Shaffir (Zionist Union) said on Tuesday during talks on the “Transparency Bill” that “The dialogue surrounding the internet is often very negative. We talk about the spread of terrorism, violence and incitement, but the internet also helps strengthen citizens in a way unlike anything we have ever seen before. Without Facebook, our ability to launch social protests would be difficult, bordering on impossible. We, as legislators, must be careful when it comes to placing limitations on the internet, so that we don’t prevent people from using their power to influence, to share ideas and to invent.”

“The model must come from here. If there is incitement on the part of the Prime Minister, or on the part of the leaders, how can there be no incitement on social media?!”
