Opposition head Yitzhak Herzog (Zionist Union) took part in a protest with Mega employees, saying, "no one can throw 3,500 workers into the street."
He also asked: "Where are the owners/ Where have the shareholders disappeared to? The responsibility for the chain and for the families belongs to all those who profited from them for dozens of years.
"The company must be taken for sale as a living business. Only thus can it protect its workers and not throw them home."
