The directorate of the “Mega” grocery chain was expected to decide on Sunday whether to turn to the courts in an attempt to receive protection against a freeze of proceedings, or whether to continue to attempt to find someone to buy the company out and enable the company’s management to receive a week-long extension to pay off its debts to suppliers. The directorate decided to turn to the courts to have proceedings frozen and to appoint a trustee over the company.
Hundreds of “Mega” employees are expected to protest on Sunday afternoon outside the offices of Shraga Biran, one of the owners of the grocery chain.
