The Knesset Assembly has given preliminary approval a bill to extend the age of retirement for parents whose children have died. The bill was submitted by MK Bezalel Smotrich (Jewish Home).

The current law allows parents who lost at least one child in the army or in a terror attack to extend their age of retirement by five years and to stay at their place of work. The bill would expand this option to any parent who lost a child due to tragic circumstances.
