The Knesset Assembly has given its approval to the first reading of a bill by MK Rachel Azaria (Kulanu) to increase the minimum number of vacation days for employees. According to her proposal, workers will receive 12 vacation days per year instead of 10.

Should the bill pass, its effects would begin in January 2017.

This would be the first time that the amount would be increased since the Annual Vacation Law was passed in 1951.
