IDF soldier removed from commander's course after writing 'Death to Arabs'

The IDF has removed a soldier from its commanders' course, after he wrote "Death to the Arabs" on Facebook, Channel 2 reports.

Amir Sharabani, from the Kfir Brigade, says that he made the comment "in a moment of temper and frustration." His post was on a thread about three children in the Bedouin village of Rahat who died when a heater started an apartment fire. Several Arab posters had insulted a Jewish Israeli woman in the thread, including one who wrote: "If only you would die, damn all the Jews!"

Sharabani had three weeks remaining in his course, and the IDF is considering removing him from a combat position entirely. A spokesperson emphasized the army's no tolerance policy and called Sharabani's remarks "inconsistent with what is expected of a soldier and a commander in the Israel Defense Forces."
