Starting February 1, motorcycle and scooter riders will be permitted to ride in public vehicle lanes in Tel Aviv, as part of a pilot project by Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud).

Katz says that the testing period will last for six months and will start with six streets in central Tel Aviv, as well as four junctions in the area.

He added that the Ministry is examining the possibility of expanding the rest to additional public vehicle lanes in metropolitan Tel Aviv and in other cities.
