The Movement for Quality Government in Israel petitioned the High Court on Sunday against the decision to appoint Aryeh Deri to the position of Minister of Interior. An injunction was also filed against presenting Deri’s appointment to the Knesset for approval and against Deri’s entry into the position.
The movement cited Deri’s past conviction of accepting bribes, fraud and breach of trust while serving as Minister of Interior as the reason for the petition.
