The Knesset's Foreign Affairs and defense Committee has rejected the IDF's request to reduce the number of soldiers serving in education positions outside of the military.
The Committee asked the defense establishment and the IDF to hold a dialog with various bodies that use the soldiers, and to find a new system that will continue allowing soldiers to serve in social positions and also will effectively reduce their numbers.
According to the Committee, such a move would encourage motivation among youths and provide them with meaningful service.
