A hotel that publishes a “star rating” that does not accurately reflect the hotel’s status according to the Tourism Ministry, or a hotel that does not publish rates according to regulations, will be fined up to 18,000 shekels, the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee approved on Wednesday.

The Justice and Tourism Ministers asked the committee to determine executive fines for crimes regarding hotel promotion and price publication. The Tourism Minister wrote in his petition that punitive sanctions had not previously been established, thereby making sanction enforcement extremely difficult.
