Dalia Fenig, a member of the Education Ministry’s Pedagogical Committee, which removed the book “Gader Haya” (Borderlife) from school reading lists, said on Wednesday that “Criticism is welcome, so long as it comes from an authentic place.”

“Because of the sensitive timing; an open wounds, we decided that the book was not appropriate,” Fenig said, emphasizing that Education Minister Naftali Bennett was not involved in the decision, which was motivated by professional considerations.
