Knesset Speaker: 'You can't rewrite history. Olmert was PM'

The office of Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein (Likud) has responded to MK Shuli Mualem-Refaeli's (Jewish Home) appeal to remove the picture of former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert from the Knesset, following his being found guilty of bribery.

"The issue has been checked. As sorry as it is, you cannot rewrite history. Ehud Olmert was the Prime Minister."

Olmert's portrait will not be removed.
