The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reports that 21,180 people were killed in Syria during 2015.
According to the report, which was published on the organization's website, 2,590 of the victims were children. President Bashar al-Assad's forces alone killed more than 15,700 people, including 12,000 civilians.
