The Jerusalem Municipality will begin charging double the current rate of municipal tax (arnona) on the city’s “ghost” apartments. The apartments, owned by foreigners and used for vacations, sit empty most of the year, yet are a direct link to housing shortages and higher prices in the capital.
Jerusalem “ghost” apartments will be charged 223.56 shekels per square meter in municipal taxes.
