The Knesset plenum approved a first reading of a proposed bill meant to exempt dentists who made aliyah from other countries from taking certification exams.
Minister of Immigration and Absorption Ze’ev Elkin said that “This law is most important for absorption and encouragement of aliyah. Professional dentists with successful experience in the most advanced countries in the world are not succeeding in integrating in the country, because of the roadblock of certification exams. We must finish the legislative process as quickly as possible and immediately establish regulations regarding the exemptions.”
