Dozens of Syrian rebels besieged around the city of Zabadani, as well as civilians held hostage in two cities in the northern Idlib province, will be evacuated today.

This development comes after months of delays, and as part of a UN-sponsored ceasefire agreement between the government and rebels.

The Red Cross will take the rebels to the Beirut airport. From there they will be flown to Turkey. In addition, about 300 civilian families will be taken to Syria's border with Turkey, and then flown to Beirut.
