The El Al pilots' agency has rejected the company's claims that the pilots' demands are the reason for canceling tonight's (Sunday) flight to Bangkok.
"El Al continues to mislead the public. The administration is the only reason for the disrupted flight," the agency said in a statement. "We are talking about a local shortage of pilots due to a lack of planning, and as a result the company's administration canceled the flight. We are disappointed that the passengers were tricked and the flight canceled. The passengers will be transfered to another flight."
It continued: "We apologize towards the passengers whose flight was delayed. I hope that the administration will learn its lessons quickly, stop misleading the public, and stop placing its mistakes on the shoulders of the pilots."
