Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called for a discussion about the still-delayed appointment of Dani Dayan as Israel's ambassador to Brazil. Dayan submitted his credentials several months ago, but the Brazil government still has not accepted him.

By the end of the meeting, the Foreign Ministry decided to inform Brazil that Israel would consider the rejection of its ambassador due to his politics as a very serious matter.

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) says that "The Foreign Ministry will use all means at its disposal to ensure that the appointment of Dani Dayan to Brazil succeeds. The State of Israel will not allow the rejection of an ambassador due to ideology, and we will act through diplomatic means in order to state this in a clearer manner."
