A court has sentenced Muhammad Haffez Kundus to 27 months in prison for throwing a stun grenade at a yeshiva in Jaffa.

Kundus said he committed the crime because he believed that Jews with knit kippot are "settlers" who want to take over the country.

Judge David Rosen ruled that "the accused acted out of hostility towards Jews who wear knitted kippot. He intended to threaten those who attend the synagogue and the yeshiva, and to make them and those like them abandon the city."
