Opposition leader MK Yitzhak Herzog, head of the Zionist Union, on Friday visited the city of Nazareth on the occasion of Christmas.
In his conversation with Archbishop George Bakhouny, Herzog did not address the current wave of terrorism, but focused on the Duma arson and said, "We will fight the murderous terror in our region with all our strength and with joint forces and all the means at our disposal."
"We must also recognize that in house extremists are threatening the magnificent Israeli mosaic in which we live, and in order to bring change we must bring together all the forces who want a strong and stable Israel and lead a stubborn struggle against them," Herzog continued, adding that "the vast majority of Israeli Jews want and know how to respect and live in peace and equality with our Christian and Muslim brothers."
