Rayani Air, a budget airline from Malaysia, has announced that it will begin running routes that observe sharia, Islamic law. The flights will only serve halal meat, prayers from the Quran will be played over the loudspeaker before landing, and women will be required to wear hijabs.
An official with the airline says that he is "proud of our achievement."
Another company is expected to begin a similar program in Europe during the coming year.
