President Reuven Rivlin responded to Wednesday’s stabbing attack in Jerusalem and said that “Yesterday more children joined the threatening cycle of being orphaned and pained. These children, who did not merit saying goodbye to their father who was heading to work, must now continue to lead full lives without him.”

“Just a few years ago, Rabbi Reuven Birmacher and his wife made aliyah from Argentina, leaving their family and parents behind, out of a desire to establish their home here. Ofer Ben-Ari stepped out of his car upon noticing what was going on, in order to help and save lives.”

“These are the good and special people we lost yesterday. The beautiful and good faces of this strong nation. The pain is great. The loss is immense.”
