The Knesset Assembly has rejected an amendment that would limit the Supreme Court's authority.
The bill would prevent the Court from involving itself in the Central Elections Committee's decisions on permitting or rejecting candidates or lists in elections.
It was proposed by Yisrael Beytenu head Avigdor Liberman and other MKs, but voted down in its initial reading.
