Head of the Free Speech and Press Lobby MK Ksenia Svetlova (Zionist Union) has commented on last night's (Sunday) demonstration in which Arutz Sheva reporter Eliran Aharon was attacked by police.
"Every week we witness attacks on free speech and the free press. Maybe the phrase is overused, but there is no doubt that we are coming to dark places," she said.
"The police commissioner and the head of internal investigation must understand that such acts erode democracy," MK Svetlova continued. "We must act without tolerance against police who use violence against reporters and in general. Police violence is evil, unacceptable, and must be stopped."
