Fighting continues in Yemen, despite the UN-sponsored ceasefire and peace talks. "The negotiations have basically failed," an inside source told AFP.
Both sides, the Saudi-backed government and the Iranian-backed Houthis, have been meeting in private since Tuesday. However, they are both accused of numerous ceasefire violations and the United Nations has been virtually unable to distribute much-needed humanitarian aid.
The fighting, which began in March, has left thousands dead and about 80 percent of the country in need of humanitarian assistance.
