All seven Israeli universities have agreed to award a 5-point bonus for students who receive 35 points on their math bagrut (leaving certificate).
Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) has been the driving force behind this move for the past three months.
Admission to the universities - Hebrew University, Tel Aviv, Ben Gurion, Haifa, the Technion, and Ariel - is based on the applicant's bagrut results and their score on the psychometric exam (similar to the SAT in the US).
