Norway has appointed its new Immigration and Integration Minister, choosing the notably anti-immigration Sylvi Listhaug.

Listhaug, the current Agriculture Minister, has condemned "the tyranny of kindness that is blowing over Norwegian society like a nightmare."

Norway has received 30,000 requests for asylum so far, and is dealing with more refugees than at any time since the end of World War II. However, AFP reports that the flow of migrants has been slacking recently, due to stricter asylum policies, restored border controls in Sweden, and the coming of winter's cold weather.
