The head of Russia's strategic nuclear forces says that Russia's new weapons will be able to "neutralize" any defense systems.
Colonel General Sergei Karakayev told state news agencies that the military considered the impact of NATO's missile defenses while designing the weapons.
Associated Press reports that Moscow has long been wary of the US-led missile shield and does not believe Washington's assertions that it is in place to prevent Iranian attacks.
