The President Pro Tempore of Liberia's Senate, Armah Zolu Jallah, made an official visit to the Knesset today (Wednesday). This is the first time the West African country's senate president has been to the Knesset.

Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein (Likud) welcomed the guest and spoke about relations between Israel and Liberia: "This is not merely a ceremonial meeting. Rather, it is a starting point for establishing work relations between our parliaments and countries."

Jallah responded by saying that "we can learn a lot from you about innovation, technology, agriculture and medical research," and acknowledged Israel's role in wiping out Ebola from Liberia.
