MK Dov Khenin (Joint List) criticized the government coalition during a Labor and Welfare Committee meeting about building accidents.
According to MK Khenin, "The picture is terrible. There are more accidents, more lethal accidents, more injuries, and more irresponsibility. Less information, less supervision. Accidents aren't reported. The supervision now is a complete fiction. We need many more appointments in every group: 10 times as many vehicles, 10 times as many investigators, and 10 times as many inspectors, immediately."
He continued: "I came here from a discussion in the Finance Committee, where they suddenly found 18 million shekels ($4.7 million US). This money would solve our problem here. But the coalition chooses to use this amount of money to increase the budget for the Settlement Division by tenfold. I demand at least this much money to deal with work accidents in the Construction Branch, to ensure that no worker is killed this week."
