Mahmoud al-Zahar, a senior member of Hamas and one of the group's founders, has clarified that Hamas will not work with any new Israel project unless Israel releases more prisoners.
The specific prisoners that al-Zahar demands released are those who were set free as part of the exchange for Gilad Shalit and then rearrested for new crimes.
He made his comment during a ceremony marking 28 years since the creation of Hamas.
