Negotiations over allowing Turkey to join the European Union resumed on Monday evening after a two-year standstill, AFP reported, noting the talks would focus on financial matters.
"EU-Turkey Intergovernmental Conference opens negotiations on Chapter 17 in accession talks," said current EU president Luxembourg, in reference to one of some 35 "chapters" Turkey must complete to join the bloc.
